Gas Turbine Testing Installation

Gas turbine is one of the power plants commonly used as power generation and propulsion system. Gas turbines vary in size between 500 kW up to 240 MW depends on the user purposes. Gasses are used as the working fluid in the gas turbine. Pressurized-air rotates the turbine wheels, so the power generated by converting the kinetic energy to mechanic energy.

The simplest system of gas turbine consists of three components, there are a compressor, combustion chamber, and turbine as shown in Figure 1.

The working principles of a gas turbine are similar to the working principles of a four-strokes engine. There are suction, compress, work or combustion, and exhaust, but the processes happen in different components not only happen inside a cylinder which makes the combustion process continuously and is at constant pressure.
