The Energy Conversion Research Group (KK-KE) consists of experts, lecturers, and researchers in the field of energy conversion which involves the interaction of energy and mass in the aspects of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics, both in the solid and fluid phase, along with the energy generation integration system and its utilization.

The scope of research of KK-KE includes the generation of power from internal and external systems, water, solar, solar, and marine power generation, propulsion, application of alternative fuels and improving the quality of solid fuels as environmentally friendly energy sources, energy conservation in buildings, as well as refrigeration and air conditioning.

The results of research and development that have been applied include: coal quality improvement plants, fuel motors with compound fuels, tore faction process reactors for processing municipal waste and biomass, low head water turbines, wind turbines, and ocean flow turbines, geothermal, smart systems. grid, environmentally friendly refrigerants, biodiesel, bio-avtur, thermoelectric-based chillers, and efficiency improvement of industrial-based equipment.

Apart from education and research, KK-KE also provides training and consulting services in the following areas: operation, maintenance, and repair of gas turbines and steam turbines, gas and steam power generation systems, operation, maintenance and repair of furnaces and boilers, systems new and renewable energy, biomass waste treatment process, energy saving in buildings, environmentally friendly refrigeration and air conditioning systems, as well as biofuel motor fuel.
